The first speaker of the morning and the meeting was Prof Yvonne Perrie. I am sure many of you are already familiar with her work. Prof Perrie is a Professor in Drug Delivery within the Strathclyde Institute of Pharmacy and Biomedical Sciences, University of Strathclyde, Glasgow. Her multi-disciplinary research focuses on developing drug delivery systems such as liposomes and particulate drug delivery systems to facilitate the delivery of drugs and vaccines, with the aim of providing practical solutions for current healthcare problems. Prof Perrie is an extremely well recognised pharmaceutical scientist, and I am pleased to welcome her to present her talk on Manufacturing liposomal delivery systems for the delivery of low solubility drugs.
