All the conference sessions of Formula X will held in the purpose built Renold Building at The University of Manchester. 

The superbly equipped 524 seat C16 Theatre and two 296 seat theatres open onto the 900 sqm exhibition space and refreshment area - where the exhibitors will be easily accessible.

The Renold Building also contains a further 25 seminar rooms and theatres seating 25 - 150 delegates making it a very effective venue for large-scale conference use. The main conference floors all benefit from Wi-Fi access.

Its prime city centre location also means it is only 250 metres from Piccadilly station and within walking distance of University accommodation and local hotels.

Manchester is well connected by all modes of transport so whether you are travelling to the city by road, rail or air, it is easy to reach. It is a compact city so once you arrive, it is also easy to get around by foot. The University is conveniently located to get to all the city centre attractions, shops and restaurants, providing you with a great base to explore all that Manchester has to offer.

Getting Here

Walking Th Renold Building can easily be reached by walking which is a great way to take in some famous Manchester landmarks whilst keeping fit. The Renold Building is located on The University of Manchester's Sackville Street campus which is less than 5 minutes walk from Piccadilly station and the Oxford Road campus is just a further 10 minutes away. Rail Travelling by train couldn't be easier, with most major cities across the UK offering direct train services into Manchester Piccadilly station, which is just 5 minutes walk from our Sackville Street campus. First TransPennine Express operates direct train services into Manchester from across the north of England, Edinburgh and Glasgow and direct services into the city centre from Manchester Airport (20 minutes journey time).

Car The University's campuses are located from just 1 mile to the nearest motorway junction and there are University signposts directing you to the campuses. The M60 outer ring road connects to all the motorways running into Manchester from north, south, east and west.

The car parks on the Sackville Street and Oxford Road campuses are chargeable. Chancellors Hotel offers complimentary parking and there is limited free parking within the student halls of residence, subject to availability.

Air Manchester International Airport has flights from over 200 destinations worldwide and the airport is located just 10 miles from the city centre with a direct train service into Piccadilly station every 20 minutes throughout the week. The approximate cost is £5 for a single journey and the journey time is just 15 minutes. Alternatively you can get a taxi to the city centre which costs less than £20.
