9 July 2019 - Graham Award Symposium

A one-day symposium honouring the contributions of Prof. Wilson Poon
Prof. Wilson Poon is the 2019 winner of the Thomas Graham award, the Joint Colloids Group mid-career award. The Graham meeting will be of interest to both industrial and academic researchers, particularly those from colloid chemistry, soft matter physics and chemical engineering backgrounds working with suspensions. The meeting will cover new advances in the science of suspensions, with a particular focus on real-world applications.

15 April 2019 - Leeds Lyotropic Liquid Crystals (L3C) SymposiumUniversity of Leeds (Maurice Keyworth Lecture Theatre (G.02) in the Business School)

The Symposium will consist of a series of talks given by the leading researchers in the field of lyotropic liquid crystals and provide you with plenty of opportunities for further discussions and networking. Here, you will learn about the theories associated with the fundamentals of self-assembling supramolecular lyotropic structures and their significance in the current research topics across a wide range of disciplines in academia and in industry. Following this, both novel and well-established characterisation techniques aimed at understanding the complex structures of lyotropic liquid crystals will be discussed, as well as the mathematical modelling of lyotropics.

21st & 22nd January 2019 - SCI Formulation Forum - London
A meeting focusing on the application of disruptive technologies to formulation, with opportunities to discuss the adaptations and the improvements which can be expected.

10th & 11th January 2019 - Formulation Days 2019 - "Advances in Formulation of Active Ingredients" - Lyon, France
1st joint conference of the International Society of Drug Delivery and Pharmaceutical Technology (APGI) and the Formulation Group of the French Chemical Society (SCF) - cross-sector discussions around formulations for pharmaceutical and cosmetic applicataions.

The FSTG

This isn't just any formulation group; this is the Formulation Science and Technology Group.  The FSTG promotes technology exchange over all aspects of product formulation, from initial product concept to manufacture.  Join us to find out how formulations impact your life and how we make, characterise and use them everyday (details of how to join the FSTG).

Our categories include:

  • 1-day events (workshops, symposia, meetings...)
  • Multi-day events (conferences, symposia, meetings...)
  • Training events
  • Awards, bursaries or travel grants
  • Early career researcher specific events (targeted at students, postgraduates, postdocs, all early career scientists)

The FSTG is working together with the National Formulation Centre to drive strategic activity in formulation for the benefit of the UK.
