Flor Siperstien obtained her degree in chemical engineering from the Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico, and PhD from the University of Pennsylvania, working with Prof. Alan L. Myers and Ray Gorte on adsorption of mixtures in zeolites. She worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher with Prof. Keith Gubbins at North Carolina State University, and joined the Universitat Rovira i Virgili (Tarragona, Spain) with a Ramon y Cajal Fellowship. She joined the School of Chemical Engineering and Analytical Science of the University of Manchester in 2006.

She is currently a Reader in Chemical Engineering and the Multiscale Modelling Group leader. Her research focuses on atomistic and mesoscopic modelling of fluids at interfaces, to obtain fundamental undersanding and predict physical and transport properties of systems of interest to the chemical industry. Particular interest include simulation of surfactant solutions, mesophases, adsorption at solid surfaces and porous material (including zeolites, carbons and porous polymers.

She has worked with the FSTG in projects such as InForm, and organising the NanoFormulation conference series.
