A small number of Universities offer a specific formulation training.

Some are aimed at general formulation - everything from paints to shampoos to pharmaceuticals:

• The University of Lille (France)
• The University of Birmingham (U.K.)

Some are aimed specifically at pharmaceuticals:

• The Univesity of Monash (Australia)
  

Due to the vast field of application of formulation science, it is possible to learn about formulation under a number of headings, such as: colloid science, physical chemistry, chemical engineering, galenic, Pharmaceutical formulation, quality control, analytical chemistry etc...

Networking

Professional societies that have dedicated formulation subject groups include:

• The French Chemical Society (Societe Francaise de Chimie, Paris, France)
• The American Chemical Society (ACS, U.S.A.)

Other societies or institutions that work closely with The Formulation Group include:

• Dechema (Frankfurt, Germany)
• YKI (Stockholm, Sweden)

Recruitment

A number of recruiting agencies and head hunters use the term Formulation in their recruitment brief. We work in close collaboration with them to help them identify the best way to approach the formulation industry to recruit the most appropriate candidates. With more than 3000 contacts on our mailing list, we are happy to forward information from recruiters for the benefits of our members.

The best way to prepare your next career move in the formulation industry is to join us and start networking. Conferences are a mine of potential contacts, and recruiters often participate and sponsor our meetings to reach out to our members.
