The Formulation Science and Technology Group (FSTG) is a subject group of the Royal Society of Chemistry, London (U.K.)
It is the leading scientific organisation dedicated to product formulation.
As a charitable organization, it works for the benefits of its members and to further the awareness of formulation science.
It fosters the advancement of formulation science across scientific disciplines: biology, chemical engineering, physics, and across its many industrial applications: cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, foods, detergents, fuels, paints, to name but a few.
It is a point of focus for all industrialists and academics engaged in the practice of formulation science.
The Formulation Science and Technology Group organizes many events during the year for the benefits of its members e.g. conferences, training days, and networking events.
The FSTG is a partner of InForm, an EU Project funded by the European Commission through the Seventh Framework Programme (FP7). InForm will run from July 2009 to June 2012. InForm stands for Integrating Nanomaterials in Formulations. InForm is a partnership of 17 world-leading institutions, including the FSTG, which will bring together formulation scientists from Europe, USA and Asia-Pacific to create appropriate platforms for dissemination between researchers working in academia, public research laboratories and industry to identify and enhance complimentary interests. The FSTG was selected to be a partner of InForm because of their knowledge of nanomaterials, their affliation with key formulation and nanotechnology advances and their passion for making this knowledge available for the benefit of all.
There are six thematic areas of InForm:
Formulation of Nano-Biomaterials
Handling and Processing of Nanopowders
Processing and Stabilisation of Nanoparticle Suspensions
Physical Chemistry at the Nanoscale
Smart and Functional materials in Formulations: Coatings, Films and Tapes
Safety and Health Effects of Nanoscale Materials - Towards Sustainable and Safe Nanomaterials
InForm will organise 3 conferences:
